Antalya continues to be a popular holiday destination and Antalya Airport is the most important tourist gateway for the Turkish Riviera. Antalya International Airport (www.aytport.com) is big and modern, built to accommodate the millions of passengers who come to Turkey's Mediterranean beaches in high summer. Approximately 2.4 million passengers, most European tourists arrive and depart each year at this airport. The airport has two separate international terminals and one domestic terminal. It is a spacious modern airport served by regular scheduled flights from Istanbul and Ankara as well as by direct international flights from some European cities. Istanbul is the main arrival airport for the international flights and there are more than 25 domestic flights between Istanbul and Antalya in almost every hour. One of the best choices for your travel may be Turkish Airlines (www.thy.com). It may be also possible for you to find direct charter flights from many cities of Europe to Antalya. Turkish Airlines (TK), Aeroflot (SU), Hapag Lloyd (HF), LTU (LT), MNG Airlines (MNB), Onur Airlines (OHY), Pegasus Airlines (PGT), Sky Airlines (SHY), Sun Express (XQ), Thomas Cook (TCX), Inter Airlines (INX) are some of the airline companies who offer scheduled or charter flights to Antalya. |

How to Get to Conference Venue: Adam & Eve Hotel |
|
To travel from the airport to Congress venue Adam & Eve Hotel – Belek, the following alternatives are available: ECSS SHUTTLE: Asterya Congress will provide shuttle services between Antalya Airport & Adam Eve Hotel and official hotels (Febeach, Riverside, Club Ali Bey, Melissa Garden, Lagonya Garden, Spice, Anfora Hotels). Asterya Staff who is charge of handling the transfers will meet you at the exit gate of the Domestic or International Terminals. They will be carrying an ECSS sign and will be wearing ECSS Congress shirts. These staff will take you to the shuttle bus. Pre-booking for the shuttle is necessary. You may reserve your seat through the online reservation system which will be open by December 15, 2009. The shuttles will be available for 24 hours and will depart with a minimum of 2 participants. The fee for this service is 25.-EUR for one way and 50.-EUR for round trip, per person. CONGRESS SHUTTLES BETWEEN OFFICIAL HOTELS AND CONGRESS VENUE (ADAM&EVE HOTEL) As there are limited public transportation possibilities in Belek region, the congress organizers will be organizing daily shuttle services between congress venue and the official hotels. Guests who have made their reservations through the ECSS 2010 Online Registration System for Accommodation and Activities will be able to use the Shuttles between the official congress hotels and the congress venue free of charge throughout the conference. Other attendees who have arranged their own accommodation may purchase 4 day Shuttle Passes for a fee of 35 Euros. Guests without the Shuttle Passes will not be able to benefit from the shuttles. Passes can be purchased from the Congress Office at the Adam & Eve Hotel or directly from the shuttles. TAXIS: Taxis are available in the airport. The journey takes about 40 minutes. All of the taxis are yellow and have fitted metres. The cost of getting from the airport to Belek region is about 60.-Euro between 6:00 am and midnight, with a 50% increase after midnight. Sharing a taxi might be a good option to get to any Hotel in the Belek region. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: Although available, accessing the congress venue by public transportation is not recommended as the airport is between the city center and the Belek region. For public transportation you need to take a city bus (HAVAS) to the city center first. It takes about 20 min. from the airport to Antalya city center by the bus and one-way ticket costs 5.-Euro. In Antalya city center, you should get off at “Meydan Kavsagi”. Busses and midi-busses to Belek stop at this square. The bus ticket fee between Antalya and Belek is 4.-Euro and it takes about an hour. When you arrive in Belek, there is limited public transportation, therefore we suggest you to take a taxi to your hotel. CAR RENTAL: Car Rental Companies are available in the airport. Dual carriageway is available till Belek and you may follow the sgns from Belek city to Adam and Eve Hotel. If you're an experienced, confident driver who can use a standard transmission, drive on the right-hand side of the road (as in continental Europe and North America), and are willing to adapt to a foreign country's driving habits, then you'll probably enjoy the freedom of driving in Turkey. To enter Turkey , you are required to have a passport that is valid for at least six months from the date you travel to Turkey. In addition, nationals from some countries require a visa to enter Turkey . Depending on your country of origin, you may purchase a visa stamp at the point of entry, or you must apply for the visa before arriving in Turkey . Credit/bank cards may be used at ATMs at the airport or in the city to get Turkish Liras (TL). The international arrivals area has currency exchange offices and bank branches. The best exchange rates are found in banks and currency exchange offices in the city center. |

Electricity in Turkey operates on 220 volts, 50 Hz, with round-prong European-style plugs that fit into recessed wall sockets/points. If your device does not accept 230 volts, 50 Hz you will need a voltage converter and if your appliance plug has a different shape, you will need a plug adapter. |

What to bring?- Wear loose, comfortable and flowing garments.
- You may be doing a lot of walking when visiting archaeological and historical sites so it's better to wear comfortable shoes.
- Protect yourself from the sun. It's a good idea to bring a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses.
- Dress modestly when visiting mosques.
- For the social events of ECSS Antalya, you can wear light casual clothing.
- Dress for the beach. You can wear your swimsuits and bikinis.
- Don't forget to bring your camera for those great memories that you won't ever forget!

- In restaurants, tip 10% to 15%. In hotels, tip €1 - €2 per bag for porters. You do not need to give tip for the taxis.
- You may tip in any currency so long as you give notes/bills (paper money). Do not give non-Turkish coins, as these cannot be exchanged for Turkish liras.
