New abstract submission deadlineThe ECSS together with the local scientific committee in Oslo has decided to extend the abstract submission deadline for the 14th annual congress of the European College of Sport Science (ECSS) to be held in Oslo, Norway, 24 -27 June 2009 until the 1st of March 2009. Guidelines for abstract submission The Abstract must be typed into the abstract submission form. All abstracts will be published in the proceedings of the 14th Annual Congress of the ECSS. Abstracts are restricted to 3000 characters (including spaces - without title, authors and institutions). It may not contain any tables or graphs and is restricted to ASCII-characters only*. Please note, that an abstract prepared in a program like Windows Word may contain non-ASCII characters. Please check the automatically created pdf-file before submitting the abstract. References in the text have to be cited at the end of the abstract (they must fit in the 3000 characters). All content of the abstract is in the sole responsibility of the author(s) of the abstract. You can preview the abstract in the submission form. Abstracts will be printed exactly as they appear in the preview. An author may submit a maximum of two abstracts as first author (only one of these abstracts can be presented as an oral presentation). The submitted abstract must be presented at the Congress by the first author. It is possible to appear as co-author on other abstracts. Replacements will not be accepted and can jeopardise the publication in the Congress proceedings. All abstracts will be judged and rated by two independent referees which will make recommendations as to the type of presentation (oral or poster). The author can state his preference for the type of presentation the final decision is with the Scientific Board. Note: Select "Invited" only if you are a speaker in an Invited symposium, Exchange symposium or Plenary session. Young Investigators Award – YIA - all abstracts that should be considered for the Young Investigators Award must be labelled appropriately on the submission form. Please check for information for YIA as well as supplementary material that must be submitted. (Please see: YIA for additional information ) A registration of the presenter (= first author) must be made at the latest by 13 May to guarantee publication of the abstract in the Proceedings! Later registrations will lead to an exclusion of the abstract. The receipt of your abstract submission will be confirmed by e-mail. Regular registration for the first author is necessary! * = Hint: To make sure your abstract only contains ASCII characters, copy-paste the text first to a text-editor like Windows Notepad, then "Save As..." and set Encoding to "ANSI".
