Fear Of Missing Out in Sevilla?

When should I travel to Sevilla?

Fear no more, as we are now sharing with you the latest in the developments to the ECSS Congress. The ECSS congress in 2020 will be celebrating its 25 birthday. The silver anniversary will be celebrated in Sevilla at the same time as a new format will be operational. We have implemented these changes to the congress in the interests of a more dynamic, compact and dense programme. Furthermore, the new programme allows you to explore Seville on the weekend already.  In order to best maximise your congress experience, we recommend that all delegates arrive in Seville on Tuesday 30 June – the “Pre Congress Day”. There will be a buzz of activity at the congress venue on the Pre Congress Day, including satellites, workshops, the general assembly, and other surprises. Should you be presenting on Wednesday morning, then the Pre Congress Day would be best used to also upload your presentation in the Speakers Ready Room, which is located next to the Registration counters. Registration will open at 14:00 on Tuesday 30 June, so you can beat off the rush and queues.

We would also highly recommend some extra time in Seville and spend some time after the congress. Seeing as there will be some celebrations on Friday evening upon closure of the congress, we would suggest that you do not book your return flights before Saturday. Our congress will officially close with the Farewell Reception on Friday evening. We are working together with local tour operators to secure exciting trips around and to the home city of tapas, the home of flamenco dancing, and the interesting national parks that are home to wonderful flora and fauna including the famed flamingo and the endangered wild cat – the Iberian Lynx.

Our partners at the Sevilla Convention Bureau have been very kind in offering support through a unique voucher system that is only valid for ECSS congress delegates. These vouchers will be the door opener to many of the cities museums and tourist attractions at a fraction of the costs one would normally pay. There are also vouchers to discounted tapas bars, entertainment venues, and shopping opportunities, trips, cruises and nightlife all of which will ensure a fantastic way to spend your weekend in the Andalusian capital.

Remember: book your flights to allow yourself time to enjoy the Pre Congress Day and to spend some quality time in this city with all its treasures!
